Going Batty

Hello! My card today incorporated a sketch challenge and a color challenge; I love to combine these two types of challenges. Anyway, the sketch is from October's Sketch for You to Try by Jen del Muro on her site Iheart2stamp.com.
Interesting sketch, huh? Im anxious to view all the submissions to see what the other stampers did with it. I used the Colour Q #160 challenge calling for Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Black and White. My Rich Razzleberry looks a little more like a wine or a maroon; I had trouble with capturing the true color with the non-sunlight lighting.
Have a great day, friends! Marilyn

Supplies:
Stamps: image-Studio G ; sentiment- SU!
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, Tangerine Tango (SU), White (Neenah)
DP: Echo Park
Ink: Jet Black Stazon (Tsukineko), SU markers
Accessories: EF-Lacy Brocade, bat punch (SU)

Chevron Witchy

Happy Monday, friends! Here is a card I made last night. I'm several cards short on the number I need for Halloween. I addressed my envelopes the other night & then counted the cards I already had on hand...darn- more envelopes than cards.

The sketch I used was from Freshly Made Sketches (FMS57). This is a sketch that is very versatle. Just take a look at the gallery on the FMS website. Flip it, change the shape of the central image & you've got a completely different card.

I used the colors from the ColourQ challenge (CQC159).

Great colors for fall or Halloween. I don't think you can tell but the little witch has got googly eyes, which will make one of my great nephews happy. This card also qualifies for the Raise the Bar Challenge (RTB116) to use a witch.

That's about it from here- lots to do today so I'll be back later tonight to check out your blogs. Have a great Monday!! {{{Hugs}}} Marilyn

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! And Happy Passover! I hope each of you has a wonderful day with your families and friends. My card today is for two challenges. The Colour Q challenge 131 to use Blushing Bride, Peach Parfait, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz and white. Perfect for an Easter card.
The other challenge is for the Deconstructed Sketch.
My stamp is from Gina K & the artist Rupa Shevde called Spring has Sprung. It isn't a new release but I only got to play with a few images last year so it is still new to me. My papers are SU! designer from the in color selection except the So Saffron which is from the retired Walk in a Park.

Have a great weekend!
Hugs, Marilyn

Happiness Blooms

Happy Sunday! The weather has been gorgeous in St. Louis~ mild temperatures (70s) and sunny, blue skies. I've been able to drive the convertible with top down almost every evening this week. That makes me one happy girl!
My card today is for several challenges. The Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper challenge (FS243) and the Inspirational Challenge (IC304). I chose this card of Dianne's & I chose this wallpaper from the IC site for this week. I also wanted to play along with ColourQ (CQC104). The colors were just delightful.
I mentioned I had been working a lot of hours at my job, and I knew it was impacting my creativity, but it wasn't until today that I realized that I made less than ten cards last month except for the sets for swaps. I think that is an all time low for me! I typically create every evening after dinner at least for a little while. Well, you can be sure I will be getting back to nightly time in the studio. I've had a hard time these past two weeks trying to create because I haven't been active...I get rusty very quickly if I don't create regularly. You may see more cases for a while until I get my mojo back. I so appreciate all your views and comments. Have a great week! Hugs,
Marilyn

Island Dreaming

Happy Sunday, Friends! This has been a great weekend after a very long & challenging work week for me. I will be glad to start afresh tomorrow after my retail therapy yesterday & today's creative therapy. This is one of the cards I made. I chose the colors for the card based upon the ColourQ challenge (CQC99) to use Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Indigo Island.
I grabbed my DCWV Mango Frost papers and cut down the main panel. It reminds me of Jamaica, thus the title of the card. I used my new Indigo Island ribbon from Stampin Up & some retired SU! felt flowers coupled with some Indigo Island cardstock Boho Blossoms punched flowers. For my sketch I chose the Clean & Simple's Fall to Layout 155 (FTL155).

As you can see, I let the papers do most of the 'talking' on this card. I hope you like it. Have a great Sunday!
Hugs,
Marilyn

Daisy Power

Happy Sunday! I've been so lucky to have had lots of time in the studio these past days. As you know, I've been working on re-organizing after the new floor installation at our home. One of my major goals is to remove the wood from my wood stamps in order to make more storage room. I've developed a process that I am very happy with but it is time consuming. Basically I am taking the image sticker off the wood, trimming it to fit the stamp and then painting an acrylic top coat so the stamp sticks to the acrylic blocks. If you're interesting in hearing more, shoot me an email. Enough of me- let's get to cards...

This one was made for two challenges. The Featured Stamper, FS225, where Rosemary is our featured artist. I chose her "True Strength" card to CASE. This card is also for the ColourQ challenge #86. Here are the colors:
Aren't these fun colors?! and what a great picture! So happy and filled with summer. Thanks for taking your precious time to stop by. Have a great day!
Hugs, Marilyn
