Teacup Birthday

A quick monochromatic card for the Tea Party Tuesday challenge on Splitcoaststampers. I used mostly Stampin' Up products today. The background texture was created with the texturz plates in my cuttlebug. I misted the card-stock lightly with water which seems to do the trick to get a good impression with the texturz plate in the cuttlebug. My sandwich is Plate A, texturz plate, misted card-stock, embossing pad, card-stock as shims and B plate. My bow was made with the bow easy. I cut out the teacup and water colored with melon mambo. I did not want a deeply colored teacup so instead of coloring directly with my marker, I took the brush side of the marker and colored onto an acrylic block, then twisted my watercolor painter into the marked acrylic block to pick up ink.

I really like this Pun Fun stamp set from SU! It is not one of those sets that the minute you see it, you have to have it. {or at least it wasn't for me} But here's the reason I love it ~ it has a variety of images- eight altogether & you can make a quick card that looks great b/c of the image size (aprox 2X2). It is easy to make sets and duplicates. That's about it from me. Have a great day!

Supplies:
Image: Pun Fun, VIntage Labels (SU!)
Paper: White (Neenah), Melon Mambo (SU!)
Ink: Black, Melon Mambo
Accessories: Sizzix embossing plate, MM ribbon, corner punch (all SU); glitter glue, watercolor painter, bow easy, pearl pins.

Daisies

Never before have I combined five challenges in one card...I certainly don't have the talent like Neva (aka n5stamper on SCS) but this week the challenges flowed together. If you've never run across Neva's work, check out her blog- she combines challenges like nobody's business. She's amazing!

Here are the five challenges I combines:
CC268- Old Olive, Barely Banana, Ballet Blue
MMTPT91- bring a daisy to the tea party
SC278- 'nuf said
WT268- use chipboard- my scallop frame is chipboard covered in barely banana
F4A10- make a floral card

You know, blue is my favorite color and there are six blues leaving the SU! color palette including ballet blue that I used as my card base above. I love change and new things so I won't whine {too much} especially since there are still lots of blues in the new colors- I count a total of seven. The blue shade faired better than purple; surprisingly only two purples remain~ and no pastel purple/lavender. I you haven't see this, Mary Fish has all the details on her blog, Stampin' Pretty.

I made my flower but using my 1-3/4 circle punch on white tissue paper; then stacked all the layers and free handed cut flower petals, added the corduroy button, and twisted the tissue paper so that the petals were not longer perfectly aligned, and a smooched it a bit.

I added Pearly Glimmer Mist (tattered angels) but it doesn't show up very well.

Have a great day, friends!

Buddy

Here's my take on the SCS sketch challenge and Mothermark's Teaparty Tuesday challenge. I used my new stamp set from Stampalicious called "Hawt Dawg". I was the fortunate winner of one of Stampalicious' blog hops; this set was one of the prizes. As you may know, I am a total dog lover (animal lover for that matter) and so I have lots of dog images as well as dog embellishments and I just can't get enough. For example, I also used some of the new papers I got last weekend at the Creating Keepsakes convention in St. Louis. The striped paper is from the Basic Grey's DP- Max and Wiskers. A whole new line of dog, cat and other animals- the other papers have the cutest dog, cat, turtle images plus match background papers like these stripes. And of course I had to have the matching Brazzil cardstock. And more! LOL

Have a great weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:
Images: Hawt Dawg (Stampalicious), Happy b-day (Target)- I like this little 1/2 inch square stamp- it comes in handy
Papers: Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Kraft (SU!), Brown texture, DP- Max and Wiskers (Basic Grey)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento)
Accessories: Gamasol, Red pencil (Prismacolor), cord, 1/4" and 1" circle punches (SU!)

Favorites

I had a fun afternoon combining three challenges into one card. The first challenge was Cindy Motherway's (aka MotherMark) Teaparty Tuesday Challenge (MMTPT) over on Splitcoaststampers. This week we were to bring our favorite things to the "breakfast at Tiffany's" teaparty. I brought coffee (of course), blueberry muffins, bling and friends. The second challenge was the Color Throwdown (CTD76) to use Melon Mambo, So Saffron and Old Olive. The third challenge, SSSC53, was Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Recipe:

Stamps: My Cuppa Joe (Gina K Designs), Friendly words jumbo (SU!)

Paper: Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Old Olive, DSP- Razzleberry Lemonade (SU!), Solar White Neenah)

Ink, Black, Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Barely Banana, Creamy Caramel, Elegant Eggplant

Accessories: jeweled brads, Melon Mambo ribbon, Small oval punch, scalloped punch (SU!), Nestabilities, blender pen, sponge.

Have a great week! Marilyn
