Hi Friends!
What a whirlwind of a week- we are super busy at home and at work. Which is why I need my stamping even more...to keep my balance. So today's card is one I made for this month's SU! Stamp Club card swap. These are strictly SU! but it is fine to use retired products. We make 12 cards so I try to make CAS cards, but unless I case a blogland favorite my cards are more CAL - clean and layered & often with DP. I love DP...duh...Paper Dreams!
Onto the card details...the base is retired Yo-Yo Yellow which exhausted that color from my supplies. The other colors are Wild Wasabi & Peach Parfait. The DP is from the 2010-2012 In Color Pattern Stack. I really love these papers & even though they are retiring in a day, I still have lots left so I'll be using them for card swaps & my CB42DD project. (Card box for two dear daughters who requested a card supply of their own since they no longer live at home & can't raid my stash.)
The images are from SU! Aviary set & the sentiment is from a retired Sale-a-bration set called Love you Bunches (circa 2005). This was my first Sale-a-bration set & probably one of my first ten stamp sets. The sentiment fit perfectly so I went with it. The layered sentiment is made with the Modern Label punch. The yellow and green punched out shapes were each cut in half and separated across the back of the white layer to form the layering on the front. Paper piercing in the corners and a little bling are the added details.
This card qualifies for the SU!Only #46 challenge to capture something about bright summer days & my color combination certainly fits. Have a great rest of your week!
Hugs, Marilyn

Masculine Birthday
Happy Memorial Day to my American friends! A special Thank You to all who do serve & those who have honorably served in our military & their families who have made their own sacrifices for their loved one to do so.
My card today is for two challenges. The sketch is from Card Patterns #167 (see below) and the theme from Hand Stamped Sentiments to make a masculine card. This card also fits the Simon Says card challenge to make a 'special male card'.
I used the "Just My Type" stamp set from SU! This one didn't make it to the new catalog so I am glad I purchased it. I used my black pigment ink for the typewriter and embossed it with black embossing powder. I distressed the edges with black ink. The paper is basic gray and poppy parade with white. The DP is from Basic Grey. The ribbon and brads are also SU! supplies. Even though there is ribbon on the card, I don't think it looks girly. Hope you like it!
Have a great week! Hugs, Marilyn

Daisy Power
Hi! Happy Sunday! This past week I was away at an educational conference for my work in Washington D.C. I'll post some pictures of the historic hotel where I stayed later this week.
Today my card is for two challenges. The Clean & Simple Fall to Layout #191 and the Dynamic Duo color challenge; both are shown below.
The Daffodil Delight paper is from SU! DSP Brights Stack. The bottom layer of the flower is made with a layer from a silk daisy; the light yellow flower is a prima flower and the button from my stash. I threaded 1/8" SU! Daffodil Delight ribbon through the button holes & brought the tails down. I used my Martha Stewart Scallop Three Dot punch for the border. The sentiment is SU! Something to Celebrate ( a retired hostess set).
Have a great week! Hugs, Marilyn

Sweet Birds & Bird Houses
Hi friends! I hope your week is starting out great. Today I completed a huge project at work...a program description proposal which was over 50 pages. I wasn't the only one writing; there were lots of folks that contributed, but I was in charge of pulling it all together & making sure all the required elements were met. I put in lots of extra hours as this means a lot to our company. So it is such a relief to have this done & to have beat the submission deadline by 7 hours. So...my week is starting out great.
But I bet you didn't come here to hear about my work...I'm glad you stopped to see my card creation. I made this for a new challenge to me called A La Card Monkey. They usually have sketch plus one other requirement. A few times ago there was a sketch plus to add cupcake(s). But this week, it is just a sketch & anything goes. The reason I like this challenge blog is because I love all the sketches. Here is this week's sketch:
I have a few close-ups for you so you can see these little dimensional stickers from Michael's Recollections collection. I thought they were just adorable. The paper is SU! Cheerful treat paper & the ribbon is SU! Pretty in Pink taffeta. The button is from my stash & as was the twine.
thanks so much for visiting! I always appreciate your kind words!

Floral Birthday
Happy Sunday! I love all the new trends and fun things in this papercrafting world that we live in, but I also love my old favorites. I am a complete nut about designer paper and I still love this retired SU! paper called "Walk in the Park". I have several sheets left but only a little bit of the old "coral' that matches. Luckily the other colors are still available.
I made this card for several challenges. First, a color challenge over at the Play Date Cafe.

The second challenge was Create with Connie and Mary SU! only challenge to make a celebration card & use Designer Paper. I hope using retired DP counts! Everything in my card is SU! I purchase lots of SU! products- their quality is fabulous and dependable. Pretty much I love everything they make!
My last challenge was the Clean & Simple sketch Challenge. I really love this sketch. My card may be a notch above CAS but I am happy how it turned out. I hope you like it too!
Have a Happy Week! Hugs, Marilyn
